As predicted in the latest issue of Valley News, Salisbury will host the Armed Forces Day National Event in 2019.
The announcement was made today, June 30, at the 2018 Armed Forces Day National Event, Llandudno, Conwy.
This prestigious national event hosted by Wiltshire and Salisbury City Councils will recognise and thank military personnel and emergency services which supported the city’s recovery.
It will also welcome troops relocating from Germany as part of the Army Basing Programme. The 4,000 service personnel and their families moving to Salisbury Plain by 2020, make Wiltshire host to the largest number of Army personnel in the country.
The National Armed Forces Day 2019 is on Saturday, June 29 at Hudson’s Field and the city centre.
Planning for the major event has already started.
