Garden party raises more than £1.6k for homeless

More than £1,600 was raised at a garden party at the South Canonry, home of the Bishop of Salisbury, Rt Reverend Nicholas Holtam. The Bishop is a patron of Salisbury Trust for the Homeless (STFH).

“The garden party raised much-needed money for STFH which during the past three decades, has helped hundreds of people turn their lives around,” said Gordon Pardy, the Trust’s Head of Fundraising. “In recent times more than four-fifths of our clients have gone on to independent living, our highest success rate ever.”

Almost 100 people attended the party hosted by the Bishop and his wife Mrs Helen Holtam, including Cllr Mike Osment, Mayor of Salisbury, Nikki Savage, Mayoress, Revd Canon Edward Probert, Acting Dean of Salisbury, and members of Wiltshire Council and Salisbury City Council.
