Oh, what a show.

Many local organisations and clubs putting on ‘quite the show’ when Salisbury carnival danced through the city on October 19.

The procession started at 7:30pm and went on until 9pm. Local cheerleaders Phoenix stars were cartwheeling and flossing their way down Blue Boar row.

Local schools did their part  and the amazing floats had everyone bobbing along with them!

Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Services did their bit and added a warm community feel.

The Salisbury City Council hosted event brought out thousands of visitors lining the streets to watch the illuminated procession in the city centre.

The Carnival attracted more than 40 entries from the Wessex Carnival Circuit, Steam entries and local community groups and businesses.

All entries were judged and the winners announced online: www.salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk/c/carnival.

Mayor of Salisbury Cllr Mike Osment raised funds for Children’s Chance and The Rose Gale Trust for his mayoral charities at the event. The carnival raised £2,145.62 for his appeal.

Cllr Osment said; “It was a very enjoyable evening and I was pleased to see so many people watching and taking part”.
